good things / updates

+ Self-made summer reading lists (a few on mine: Sunshine State - Sarah Gerard, The Hazel Wood - Melissa Albert, I'll Be Gone in the Dark - Michelle McNamara, Sing, Unburied, Sing - Jesmyn Ward)
+ Morning Pages - I can't even begin to explain how they're changing me. Shifting me from the inside-out, teaching me to be softer with myself and fight for the things that I want and need. Morning Pages are self-care and self-expression and self-realization.
+ Wildflowers of the west coast!!! See my zine from this month, Plant Magic, for an exploration of this love.
+ Walking, and being in walkable cities.
+ Beecher's Mac and Cheese. Ugh.
+ Finding new, wonderful art for our tiny apartment. We are slowly running out of wall space, but it's going to be so wonderful to have all of this amazing stuff for the next place we live.
+ Finding a copy of The Wild Unknown tarot in a tiny store in Seattle, and feeling this intense moment of understanding that NOW was the time to buy it again, after having lost my original copy in a motel in Connecticut. It was the first deck I learned to read on, it was the first deck I owned, and I was waiting for the perfect time to replace it. It felt so right, and the cards immediately started reading like I'd been handling them for years.
Frankie and Jos. Literally everything I've ever wanted in life. California Cabin. Unreal.
+ The most amazing, perfect, romantic evening talking and smoking on a rooftop terrace looking out across the Puget Sound, watching ferry boats leave, their lights twinkling in the dark water.
+ Getting better at pool.
+ Traveling by boat. To Canada!
+ Japanese Stationary Stores. They're just the greatest places in the whole world, full of incredible notebooks and the best stuffed animals and pens!!! SO MANY PENS!
+ Rewatching the X-Files from the beginning. I can't believe I watched this show when I was in elementary school. It even freaks me out now, and I am a seasoned horror-lover. The grainy film and scenery kills me, though. It's like watching the most perfect representation of my mind. In a really creepy, dark way.
